KARL-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins kept their scorching February scoring tear going as the Minnesota Timberwolves rode a second quarter surge to cruise past the Sacramento Kings, 102-88, at the Golden 1 Center on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

Towns and Wiggins, the duo combining for a league-best 57.4 points per game in February, led the Timberwolves with 29 and 27 markers, respectively, to improve their record to 24-36.

Towns, who also finished with 17 rebounds, sparked a 29-13 run to close the first half with a 60-44 lead for Minnesota, who scored 40 points in the second quarter alone. The Timberwolves didn’t let up in the second half, pushing the lead to 21 early in the fourth as the Kings only managed to get as close as 13 the rest of the way.

The Minnesota star pair also found good scoring support from the bench as Nemanja Bjelica and Shabazz Muhammad scored 10 apiece.

Six players scored in double figures for Sacramento (25-36), led by Kousta Koufos, Willie Cauley-Stein and Ben McLemore who each had 14 points. Tyreke Evans added 13 off the bench.
