    Millsap leads way as Atlanta downs Detroit to spoil Smith’s homecoming

    NEWLY acquired Paul Millsap and the Atlanta Hawks beat the Detroit Pistons 93-85 Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time) spoiling the return of forward Josh Smith to Atlanta.

    Millsap started the game after missing out due to a sore right elbow, finishing with 19 points, while Josh Smith only connected with 11 points on a 5-15 shooting night. The Hawks did not look back, pulling away from a 66-64 lead through three quarters with Jeff Teague scoring 18 points and DeMarre Carroll’s 11 points and a career-best 12 rebounds.

    Brandon Jennings led all Pistons players with 21 points and Rodney Stuckey added 18 points before fouling out in the fourth.
