Grizzlies score fifth consecutive victory and deal Hornets second straight loss

MIKE Conley scored 31 points as the Memphis Grizzlies stretched their winning streak to five games by beating the Charlotte Hornets on the road 105-90 on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

Conley went 5 for 8 from beyond the arc and also had three steals for Memphis which had six players finish in double figures. The team's 9-5 record is the fourth best in the Western Conference.

Marc Gasol had a sold performance with 13 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and three blocks while Zach Randolph added 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

The Grizzlies, which relied on solid defense to hold down their opponents to less than 75 points in the last three games, led by as much as 26 points in the third quarter. The Hornets staged a late run but only managed to close the gap to 10 points with 6:41 left in the 4th quarter before Conley led a 9-2 run.

Reserve Frank Kaminsky led the Hornets with 23 points on 9-11 field goals. Kemba Walker chipped in 17 points.
