MARC Gasol calmly sank two free throws in the dying moments, capping a career effort of 42 points and helping the Grizzlies foil a late rally by the skidding Toronto Raptors, 101-99, on Wednesday in Memphis (Thursday, Manila time).

The Raptors went on a 12-0 run to tie the game at 99 before Gasol drew a foul from Jonas Valanciunas with 36 seconds left.

Gasol hit the shots from the stripe and the Grizzlies held on to get back on the winning track after a loss to the Houston Rockets.

Zach Randolp had 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while Tony Allen scored 15, making 7 of 14 field goal attempts, as the Grizzlies notched their 27th win in 47 games.

Toronto suffered its fifth straight loss and 18th in 46 outings.

Kyle Lowry had 29 points and Norman Powell scored 21 for the Raptors, who remain second in the Easter Conference although just half a game ahead of the Boston Celtics.
