THE Los Angeles Lakers overpowered the embattled New York Knicks, 121-107, on Monday at the Madison Square Garden (Tuesday, Manila time).

Lou Williams showed the way as the Lakers took control with a 29-19 first quarter and went ahead 61-45 at the half.

The Lakers ended a two-game slide and sent the Knicks to a second straight loss.

Williams finished with 22 points, making 6 of 11 field goal attempts, while Nick Young came up with 17 points on 5 of 14 shooting.

Fil-Am guard Jordan Clarkson came off the bench to deliver 12 points as the Lakers notched their 18th win in 54 games.

The Knicks could not bounce back from a loss to the Cavaliers and absorbed their 31st defeat in 53 outings.

Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points on 10 of 17 shooting, while Kristaps Porzingis made 5 of 15 field goal attempts and finished with 16 points, falling a rebound short of a double-double.
