THE Los Angeles Lakers continued to find ways to win without LeBron James and Rajon Rondo as they outlasted the Oklahoma City Thunder, 138-128, in a huge overtime victory on the road on Friday, Manila time at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Kyle Kuzma showed the way with 32 points, eight boards, four assists, and three steals in 36 minutes, while Ivica Zubac put up a solid effort off the bench with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and one assist in 28 minutes.
Then Lonzo Ball sparked their surge in overtime where he knocked down two three-pointers, including the go-ahead basket to start the extra session, before finishing with 18 points, 10 assists, six caroms, and one steal in 33 minutes.
The Lakers thus registered back-to-back wins and fourth in six games to improve to 25-21 overall.
The Lakers overcame another individual brilliance from Russell Westbrook, who produced 26 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds, although making just seven of his 30 shots for the Thunder, who dropped to 26-18.
