    Lonzo Ball says he prefers to play for LA Lakers than be selected No. 1 overall in NBA Draft

    TOP basketball prospect Lonzo Ball would rather play for the Los Angeles Lakers than get selected as the top pick in the coming NBA Rookie Draft.

    Ball made the admission in ESPN Sportsnation’s “Ball Don’t Lie” segment shown this week after he was asked if he would rather be a Laker or the No.1 pick.

    “I’m gonna go with the Lakers,” responded the former UCLA star, who declared for the draft after the Bruins were eliminated in the US NCAA tournament where Ball recorded 10 points and eight assists in his last game.

    Asked why he wanted to join the Purple and Gold, Ball had a ready and personal response to the show’s hosts.

    “It’s my family, dude. All my family’s in LA so to be able to play in front of them, you know, I think that would mean more to me,” he explained.

    Ball was also asked to compare himself with Markelle Fultz, another top point guard talent from the Washington Huskies.

    “I think I lead a team better than him. He says he’s the best, I feel I’m the best, leave it at that,” Ball responded.

    Describing himself as a ‘true point guard,’ the 6-5 Ball said he’s better than Fultz in getting his teammates involved.

    “Obviously (Fultz) can, too, but I do it a little bit better,” said Ball, who named LeBron James and Russell Westbrook as the two players he tries to emulate.
