Among sports icons of today, NBA players led by LeBron James are the top choices by celebrities whom they’re willing to shell out money just to watch them play, according to ESPN.
The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar was the most popular choice based on the answers given by athletes from a wide range of sports on the red carpet during the recent ESPYS Awards.
Aside from James, other NBA stars mentioned were Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant.
Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, skateboarder Nyjah Huston, women's national soccer team player Alex Morgan, WWE wrestler Roman Reigns, and basketball analyst Kenny Smith were among those who said they would shell out for choice seats to see James on the hardcourt.
“I would pay to see LeBron because he’s the kind of athlete we haven’t seen in the past 50-60 years,” Smith told ESPN.
Other popular choices were MMA fighter Ronda Rousey and Serena Williams.
