DESPITE two NBA Finals meetings and the distinct possibility of a third, LeBron James does not feel he is in a rivalry with Stephen Curry.

"I don't have a rivalry with Steph Curry," James told reporters after the Eastern Conference team’s practice session on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) in New Orleans. "There's no way you can say, 'Let's talk about rivalries,' and you say, 'Bird and Magic. Carolina, Duke. Ohio State, Michigan,' and then say 'LeBron and Steph.'

"It's disrespectful to those other three that I just named that you would even try to put us in the class with that. We haven't had enough battles, and who's to say we will have future battles. We'll see, but to put us in a category with [them], it's impossible. You can't do it."

Regardless of James’ sentiments, both he and Curry have the individual and team accolades to be considered as rivals.

James has been named MVP four times while Curry has won the past two awards, with last year being named as the NBA's first unanimous selection.

Led by both stars, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are on top of the standings in their respective conferences, setting up a possible third straight Finals clash, the first time in NBA history that the same teams battle for the championship in three straight years.

Meanwhile, James maintained that he has a lot left in the tank as he prepares for his 12th straight playoff campaign.

"I have enough left for whatever," James said. "I was ready to play another Finals after Game 7 of last year. Just give me one or two days' rest, and I'll be ready to go again."
