"It's never just about me, but I always hear them saying, 'We gotta beat LeBron,'” says LeBron James.

WHETHER it’s Dwyane Wade leaving sunny Miami for Chicago, Derrick Rose changing addresses from the Windy City to the Big Apple or Kevin Durant forming a ‘super team’ in the Bay Area, LeBron James feels these are all efforts directed to stop him.

"I know teams switch and pick up new coaches or new players, and their whole goal is kind of they want to beat me," said the 31-year old Cleveland Cavaliers star in an interview with cleveland.com on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) to discuss the upcoming season and how his dominance in the East has caused changes in opposing franchises.

"It's never just about me, but I always hear them saying, 'We gotta beat LeBron,'” said James, a future Hall of Famer and regarded as one of the best players of all time. “It's not just me on the court, but I understand that teams get together in this conference and across the league to try to beat me."

Since the 2010-11 season, James has taken whatever team he has played for to the NBA Finals six consecutive times, winning three championships in the process, resorting rival teams to create contenders, dismantle squads that fell short or rebuilding their franchises- all in attempts to stop The King and his current reign.

James also offered his views on Durant joining the Warriors, a team that James has faced twice in the Finals the past two seasons and the greatest challenge to a possible dynasty.

"I think every team is put together for one reason and one reason only, and that's to try and win a championship," he said. "That's what Golden State wants to do. For me, I'm the same way. I don't like being stagnant, and we've got great guys in here, but I want to continue to get better in this league each and every year and have the opportunity to win a championship. That's what it comes down to."

A veteran of 14 seasons, James was also asked about how he views his pro career at this point.

" I want to make a point in this league where guys look back at the run that I had and be like, 'Wow, what he was able to do was some good times, some good ball, and what he was able to accomplish was either something we've never seen before, or was one of a kind.'"
