LEBRON James fired back at what he considered false media reports, particularly from ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, on his role and reactions in the reported trade demand of his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Kyrie Irving.
After ESPN came out with Irving’s trade request last Friday (Saturday, Manila time), Smith bared the next day that a source from Irving’s camp said that the news got out with help from James.
Then on Monday, Smith shared on his radio show that sources from James’ camp told him the four-time NBA MVP would be tempted to ‘beat [Kyrie’s] ass’ due to the trade demand and the insinuation that James helped orchestrate the release of the news.
James, though, had enough and fired back at Smith on Tuesday through his Twitter account.

He also posted almost the same tweet in denying a report he’s ‘eager’ to see Irving leave Cleveland.

Only they know who’s telling the truth, but the fact remains the Cavs are in disarray, rocked by the challenge of finding a trade partner for wantaway Irving, who made the request reportedly due to his desire to be the focal point of a team and get out of James’ shadow.
League sources told ESPN that Irving preferred the San Antonio Spurs but he’d also be willing to play for the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves.
