LEBRON James Sr. and Jr. are set to become the NBA's first-ever father and son teammates.

James Jr. - nicknamed Bronny - was drafted 55th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft, putting him on the same team as his all-time league scoring leader-slash-dad.

Even after the second round selection, however, LeBron will first have to opt into the last year in his current contract - or renegotiate a new one as he enters his 22nd season - for the family team-up to happen.

The elder James had long voiced out his wish to keep playing until his oldest son was also already in the NBA.

"I need to be on the floor with my boy, I got to be on the floor with Bronny, either in the same uniform or a matchup against him," he told ESPN's Dace McMenamin a year ago.

NBA-ready Bronny?

The 6-foot-2 Bronny was once thought-to-be a potential first-rounder after a standout high school showing in Sierra Canyon.

Once he committed to USC, however, health issues derailed his steady rise and he only averaged 4.8 points in 36 percent shooting and 2.8 rebounds.

The 19-year-old, however, still has loads of potential - especially as he already has the James blood in him.

Bronny joins a Lakers side that won the inaugural NBA Play-In Tournament, but also barely made it into the playoffs as the eight-seed before being at the wrong end of the Denver Nuggets' gentleman's sweep.
