LOS Angeles Lakers’ forward Julius Randle will be sidelined for at least two weeks after he suffered a laceration on his right hand in practice on Monday.

The Lakers made the announcement on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) after lefty Randle needed seven stitches to repair the laceration on the webbing between his middle and ring fingers on his non-dominant hand.

According to Lakers Nation’s Corey Hansford, the young Lakers core led by Randle, D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson have been busy training in the offseason that they have been called ‘The Breakfast Club’ for their early morning workouts with more than a month away from training camp under new head coach Luke Walton.

The injury seems to be a minor setback for Randle, who averaged 11.3 points and 10.2 rebounds for the Lakers last season, as he has ample time to heal and be ready to defend his spot as the team’s starting power forward.

But Randle finds some competition this season with second-year forward Larry Nance Jr. and new recruit Yi Jianlian, who makes his NBA comeback with the Lakers after his fine play for China in the Rio Olympics.
