D’ANGELO Russell made his first five three-pointers and Julius Randle finished with a triple double as the Los Angeles Lakers subdued the Brooklyn Nets 125-118 at the Staples Center on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

Russell scored 17 points in the 1st quarter en route to 32 points, coupled with eight rebounds and four assists. Randle had his second career triple-double with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Timofey Mozgove went 7 for 11 from the field for 20 markers. Jordan Clarkson finished with 12 points and five steals off the bench.

Lax defense by the young Lakers allowed the Nets to keep it close and even led at the half 43-41. A Trevor Booker lay-up cut the deficit to 114-110 with 2:48 remaining before some key stops and steady free throw shooting allowed LA to pull away for its seventh win in 12 games. The Lakers are 4-1 at home.
