THE young Los Angeles Lakers showed poise in the endgame as it won its first road game at the expense of the Atlanta Hawks, 123-116, on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
D’Angelo Russell had an impressive outing with 23 points, eight assists and three blocks as the LA snapped a three-game skid.
The bench delivered for the Lakers as Lou Williams came up with 18 points and four assists in his hometown return while Jordan Clarkson chipped in 16 points and forward Larry Nance Jr was good for 14 points and seven rebounds.
The Lakers retook the lead in the fourth quarter and bounced back on the second game of a back-to-back and will return to Los Angeles after a four-game road trip.
The Hawks absorbed their first loss of the season. Dwight Howard came up with 31 points and 11 rebounds, while reserve Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 26 points.
