BLAKE Griffin and DeAndre Jordan put on a show to lead the Los Angeles Clippers romp over the Phoenix Suns, 116-98, on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) at the Staples Center.
‘Lob City’ was in full effect in the second quarter after the Suns managed to put a tough stand and end up tied in the opening frame. Griffin and Jordan connected on several aerial assaults to close the period on an 18-3 run to take a 48-36 lead at the break.
The Clippers bench held their ground entering the fourth period in preserving a 12-point lead before Griffin and Jordan resumed their onslaught. The pair delivered highlight reel plays one after another to bring the lead up to 20 at the four-minute mark before heading to the bench as the reserves sealed the big win.
Chris Paul led all scorers with 24 points to go with eight assists. Griffin and Jordan each had double-doubles as the former had 21 markers and 11 boards, while the latter finished with 19 and 11 as the Clippers had their third straight win in as many games.
Brandon Knight had 18 points to lead the winless Suns, while TJ Warren added 15 markers and Alex Len had 13 off the bench. Phoenix gunner Devin Booker sat out the game due to a toe sprain.
