THE New York Knicks snapped a five-game skid and sent the Detroit Pistons to their fourth straight loss, 109-95, on Monday at Madison Square Garden.
Kristaps Porzingis showed the way for the Knicks, who started the second half strong and did not allow the Pistons to score until only over four minutes left in the third quarter.
The Knicks built a 20-point lead, 79-59, and held on to notch their 28th win in 74 games.
Derrick Rose had a fine performance with 27 points on 12 for 17 shooting.
Porzingis scored 25, making 10 of 16 field goal attempts, while Carmelo Anthony went 8 for 15 and wound up with 21 points.
The Pistons absorbed their 40th loss in 75 outings.
Marcus Morris had 20 points and Ish Smith added 15 for Detroit.
