KLAY Thompson waxed hot from deep for 29 points and Steph Curry added 25 points and nine assists as the Golden State Warriors picked up its second straight win in a 122-92 rout of the slumping Orlando Magic at Oracle Arena on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).
Thompson made 5-of-9 three-pointers for the Warriors who shot 57.5 percent from the field and led from start to finish as it extended its lead against the San Antonio Spurs to 1½ games for the top spot in the Western Conference.
Thompson outscored Orlando all by his lonesome with 21 first-quarter points, including five triples, as the Warriors stormed to a 34-20 lead at the end of the period. Golden State even extended the gap to 61-33 but Orlando closed the half strong with a 17-6 run to trail by 17, 67-50, at the break.
The Warriors bench delivered with Andre Igoudala adding 14 points and six rebounds, while Ian Clark added 12.
Elfrid Payton and Feff Green each scored 13 points for the Magic which absorbed its fourth straight loss.
