BOGDAN Bogdanovic knocked down the go-ahead basket and the Sacramento Kings held the depleted Golden State Warriors scoreless for the final three minutes to hack out a 110-106 win on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) at the Oracle Arena.
The Kings fell behind by as much as 10 points late in the second quarter to a Warriors team without injured stars Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. But Sacramento turned things around late in the third period with 9-0 blitz to take an 83-82 lead into the fourth.
It turned into a nip-and-tuck battle in the last quarter, but after Klay Thompson put Golden State up 106-102 with 3:11 to play, Sacramento clamped down on defense as Garrett Temple hit two free throws before Willie Cauley-Stein got the game tied at 106 with 1:46 to go, setting the stage for Bogdanovic’s clutch basket.
Bogdanovic sealed the win in sinking a pair of free throws after Thompson missed on a three-point attempt.
Cauley-Stein led the Kings (6-14) with 19 points off the bench, while George Hill fired 16. Garrett Temple and Frank Mason III scored 14 apiece, while Bogdanovic added 12.
Thompson had a game-high 21 points for the Warriors (15-6). Pat McCaw added 16, while Draymond Green chipped in 14.
