KEVIN Knox is eager to prove doubters wrong as he goes under the bright lights of the Big Apple.
The Kentucky wingman heard the boos when New York took him with the ninth overall pick in the NBA Draft on Friday, Manila time as Knicks fans apparently wanted Missouri’s Michael Porter.
But Knox is hoping to turn doubters into believers as he related his situation to Kristaps Porzingis, who’s now the Knicks cornerstone after also being greeted negatively after NY took him at fourth overall in 2015.
"They booed Porzingis (on draft night) and look where he is now. That's the same mindset I'm going to have," Knox said. "They can chant Michael Porter all they want. But they got Kevin Knox, and I'm willing to work and I'm willing to get better."
Porter, who proclaimed himself as the best player in this draft, dropped all the way to No. 14 by Denver as injury concerns factored in to the stock of the former high school sensation.
