IT remains to be seen where Kevin Durant ends up when NBA free agency begins in July. But one thing is certain, his latest signature shoe from Nike will land on stores come June 20 (June 21, Manila time).
The Nike Air Zoom KD 9 'Pre Heat' will be the initial release of Durant’s newest kicks, the same pair he debuted in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s series against the Golden State Warriors.
Durant’s jersey #35 is printed on the tongue tab of the predominantly grey-toned shoes as a personal touch.
The Leo Chang-designed performance shoe will sell for $150, slightly lower than the previous KD 8. Technology includes a honeycombed Flyknit upper for breathability, flexibility and support. For cushioning, Nike decided on a full-length tapered Air Zoom units. The outsole has pronounced anatomical flex grooves and heel notches.
A 'USA' colorway of the KD 9, in time for the Rio Olympics, will also be released on July 9, as Durant is one of the NBA stars who has expressed his commitment to play for Team USA in the quadrennial games.
