    Warriors leave it late before beating Hornets to get back on winning track

    THE Golden State Warriors used a late surge to turn back the Hornets, 113-103, on Wednesday in Charlotte (Thursday, Manila time).

    The Hornets led, 73-63, in the third and were up 89-85 early in the fourth.

    The Warriors got ahead only with five minutes left on two free throws by Kevin Durant, 95-94, and held on for their 39th win in 46 games.

    Durant finished with 33 points and the Warriors bounced back from a loss to the Miami Heat.

    Steph Curry scored 28 points on 11 of 23 shooting including 6 of 12 from the three-point line.

    Klay Thompson had 19 points and Draymond Green scored 13.

    The Hornets suffered their second straight loss and 23rd in 46 games.

    Kemba Walker had 26 points on 9 of 23 shooting, while Nicolas Batum scored 16.
