THE Hornets came up with a strong first half and held on to beat the Indiana Pacers, 100-88, on Monday in Charlotte (Tuesday, Manila time).

Kemba Walker showed the way for the Hornets, who led 52-28 in the second and managed to hold on even after being held scoreless in almost four minutes early in the third.

It was the second straight win for the Hornets after downing the Denver Nuggets, and their 28th victory in 63 outings.

Walker came up with 28 points on 10 of 22 shooting in 35 minutes of action.

Nicolas Batum had 21 points, going 7 for 19, while Jeremy Lamb had 14 points off the bench.

The Pacers could not get a win run going after downing the Atlanta Hawks, continuing their rollercoaster run with their third loss in the last six games. It was the final game of a five-game road trip.

Paul George scored 36 points and had 10 rebounds for Indiana, which absorbed its 31st in 63 games.
