KEMBA Walker had 28 points and 10 assists while Nicolas Batum finished with 23 points and 10 assists as the Charlotte Hornets fought their way back from a 19-point deficit to beat the Lakers, 117-113, on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The loss was a bitter one for the Lakers was who enjoyed a 73-59 lead at the end of two quarters.
Walker and Marvin Williams led a fightback in the third, sparking a 15-0 run in a four-minute span and the Hornets took the lead with Walker’s 25-footer at the 5:52 mark.
A triple from Marco Bellinelli tied the game 113-all with 2:21 left in the game and Batum retook the lead for the Hornets with a close jumper.
The Hornets made it back-to-back wins after downing the Atlanta Hawks.
Nick Young missed a three-pointer and the Lakers fouled Batum who sank both free throws.
Jordan Clarkson led the Lakers with 25 points and a career-best seven of nine three-pointers.
Nick Young finished with 24 points. The Lakers have lost 10 of its last 11 games. The Lakers lost Larry Nance Jr. in the third quarter to a knee injury.
