KAWHI Leonard scored 29 points, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol added 19 apiece as the San Antonio Spurs defeated a surprisingly resilient New York Knicks, 108-96, for their fourth win in a row on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time).
San Antonio was up 18 points in the third quarter when the Knicks rallied and reduced it to four behind Willy Hernangomez's 22 points.
Two free throws from Kristaps Porzingis drew New York closer 83-80 at the 9:11 mark in the final period but Patty Mills led a 13-4 run to extend the Spurs lead 96-84
Hernangomez also grabbed 13 rebounds for the Knicks who fell to its fifth straight loss. Derrick Rose also scored 22 points. Mindaugas Kuzminskas added 19.
Carmelo Anthony missed the game due to soreness of his left knee.
