THE Minnesota Timberwolves have made it clear who they want more between Karl-Anthony Towns and Jimmy Butler.

The Wolves are set to renew Town’s contract with a five-year, $190-million super-maximum extension on the same day that team owner Glen Taylor reportedly declared that he’s open to trading Butler.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN broke the news on Sunday, Manila time.

"I promise to the fans, my teammates and the organization to keep the vision of the man who drafted me, Flip Saunders, alive and treat his dream of winning with respect and dignity. To the fans from Day One and the Timberwolves fans, this is for you. Thank you for believing in me,” Towns said in a statement.

Towns, who won’t turn 23 until November 15, has the Wolves’ cornerstone since drafting him with the first overall pick in the 2015, becoming the 2016 Rookie of the Year, an All-Star, and a All-NBA third team member in his first three seasons.
