MARKIEFF Morris hit a jumper with .4 seconds left on overtime after catching a pass while his foot was on the sideline, lifting the Washington Wizards to a 125-124 victory over the Trail Blazers on Saturday in Portland (Sunday, Manila time).
Morris caught the pass from Bradley Beal and was not called out of bounds after apparently stepping on the sideline, then faked before making the 20-footer that gave the Wizards their fifth straight win and 41st in 65 games.
John Wall had 39 points while Beal scored 26 for Washington.
Otto Porter had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Marcin Gortat had 15 and 15, while Morris also finished with a double-double of 13 and 11 for the Wizards.
The Blazers saw their four-game win streak end with the controversial result.
CJ McCollum scored 34 and Damian Lillard had 33 points for Portland, which absorbed its 36th loss in 64 games.
