John Wall showed the way for the Wizards, who made it two straight wins after back-to-back losses.
Washington outran the Cavaliers in the first quarter for a 40-26 lead and never looked back, posting their 44th win in 72 games.
Wall came up with 37 points on 14 of 21 shooting, and also issued 11 assists, while six other Wizards scored in double figures.
Bradley Beal scored 27, Kely Oubre came off the bench to deliver 16 points, while Markieff Morris added 14.
Otto Porter, Marcin Gortat and Jason Smith had 10 points each.
The Cavaliers, coming off a victory over the Charlotte Hornets, continued their run of alternating wins and losses, absorbing their third defeat in the last five games.
LeBron James had 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Kyrie Irving scored 23.
Kevin Love came up with 17 points on 5 of 11 shooting for Cleveland, which absorbed its 25th loss in 72 games.
