JEFF Teague scored 25 points and C.J. Miles drained a crucial three-pointer as the Indiana Pacers held off Rockets comeback, posting a117-108 win on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).
Miles’ timely triple came after Indiana saw its 14-point lead in the fourth quarter evaporate.
The Rockets got to within 108-110-on a three-pointer by Rockets reserve Lou Williams with 1:02 left.
With Williams and James Harden missing from downtown, Teague secured the win by draining four free throws.
Houston led by as many as 17 in the second quarter before Indiana’s reserves staged a rally to hold a 59-58 advantage at halftime.
Paul George added 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals for Indiana. Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons reserves with 17 points . Myles Turner and Monta Ellis scored 12 apiece.
Williams scored 28 points (5/10 3-pointers) while Harden had 25 points and 12 boards for Houston which saw its two-game win streak end. Nene Hilario added 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Holding on to seventh place in the Eastern Conference, Indiana has a 1-½ games advantage over the Chicago Bulls but has lost 7 of its last 10.
