ANDREW Wiggins scored 28 points, Karl Anthony Towns had 23 points and 18 rebounds, while Shabazz Muhammad had 20 points off the bench as the Minnesota Timberwolves snapped the Houston Rockets’ nine-game winning streak with a 119-105 win on Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time).
Wiggins buried 11 of 20 shots while Town’s and Muhammad’s performance in the paint allowed the Wolves to dominate the boards 49-32 and rack up a 54.3 field goal percentage.
Except for a brief three-point deficit in the third quarter, Minnesota led for most part of the game.
It was the second straight win for the Wolves who are currently five places out of the eighth spot in the Western Conference with a 13-26 record.
Ricky Rubio 17 assists to go with his 10 points. Gorgui Dieng also had 10.
James Harden had 33 points, 12 assists and six rebounds for the Rockets. Ryan Anderson hit five 3-pointers en route to 18 points and fellow starter Trevor Ariza had 16.
