IT’S the end of the season for Milwaukee Bucks rising star Jabari Parker who tore the ACL of his left knee for the second time in three years.

Parker will require season-ending surgery after suffering the injury in the third quarter of Milwaukee’s 116-88 defeat against the Miami Heat on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).

The 21-year old forward is expected to undergo a yearlong recovery and rehabilitation period and will miss the start of next season.

One of the Bucks’ go-to players, Parker was the team’s second-leading scorer with a career-high 20.1 points and was also grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game.

Parker sustained the injury in the halfway in the third quarter when he made minimal physical contact while driving to the lane that did not directly hit the left knee but caused it to buckle.

An injury to the same ACL in December 2014 caused Parker, the No.2 overall pick out of Duke, to cut short his rookie season after only 25 games.

Parker went down in the same game that welcomed the return of guard Khris Middleton, who missed the first 50 games of the season after hamstring  tear he suffered during training camp.

Along with All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Parker and Middleton were supposed to be the cornerstones of a young Bucks team.

Milwaukee is currently struggling to reach the playoffs, having lost eight of its last 10 games and is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-29 record.
