ISAIAH Thomas scored 24 of his 41 points in the fourth quarter as the Boston Celtics held off the Detroit Pistons in a 113-109 victory on Monday night (Tuesday, Manila time), their fourth straight win.
Thomas was 11 for 23 from the field and sank all 15 of his free throws in posting his fourth 40-point game in the last 21 games. He extended his run of games with at least 20 points to 32 in a row and carried Boston down the stretch.
Jae Crowder added 21 points and Al Horford scored 13 for Boston, which had to rally after Detroit staged a run in the middle of the fourth quarter as the teams changed leads.
Andre Drummond had 28 points and 22 rebounds for the Pistons who managed to outscore the Celtics 60-38 in the paint and managed to outrebound Boston 51-44.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 18 while Tobias Harris added 15 off the bench. Detroit has lost three in a row.
