DWIGHT Howard led Houton with 35 points and 19 rebounds, and the short-handed Rockets beat the Detroit Pistons 114-97 on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time).
Howard outplayed Detroit's 20-year old promising center Andre Drummond as Houston managed to take care of the game despite the absence of star guard James Harden, who was out with a sprained right ankle and Jeremy Lin (back spasms).
Parsons scored 20 points for Houston, and Francisco Garcia added 16 points. Omri Casspi and Aaron Brooks had seven assists each off the bench.
Josh Smith finished with 19 points for the Pistons.
