JAMES Harden sank crucial shots in the endgame to lead the Houston Rockets past the slumping Detroit Pistons, 99-96, on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) for its third straight win.
Houston was holding to a slim 94-93 with 1:04 left in the game before Harden buried a 19-foot jumper. Harden finished with 26 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.
Rockets center Clint Capela chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Trevor Ariza, who sank the go-ahead triple with three minutes left, had 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. Reserve Sam Dekker went 5-8 from the field for 12 points.
It was the fourth straight loss afor the Pistons who were led by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with 26 points. Andre Drummond added 13 points and 16 boards while Marcus Morris also scored 13 points.
