Heat ease to victory as Cavaliers rest Kyrie Irving, LeBron James

THE Heat came up with a huge second quarter to take control and cruised to victory over the undermanned Cleveland Cavaliers, 120-92, on Saturday in Miami (Sunday, Manila time).

Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic showed the way as the Heat overpowered the Cavaliers in the 32-16 in the second to get back on track after a loss to the Orlando Magic.

The LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were given the night off after the Cavaliers edged the Atlanta Hawks in a high-scoring game the night before.

Dragic scored 23 points, while Whiteside had 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Heat notched their 29th win in 63 games.

The Cavaliers absorbed their 19th loss in 61 outings.

Channing Frye came off the bench to lead the Cavaliers with 21 points.

Kyle Korver got a start and wound up with 15 points, all from the 3-point area, while Deron Williams scored 10 and had seven assists.
