Rockets eliminate Thunder in five games to reach Western Conference semifinals

THE Rockets rallied in the fourth to get past the Oklahoma City Thunder, 105-99, on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) and advance to the conference semifinals.

James Harden led the way as the Rockets eliminated the Thunder, 4-1, in the best-of-seven first round playoff series.

The Rockets next take on the winner of the series between No. 2 San Antonio Spurs and seventh seeds Memphis Grizzies.

Harden scored 34 points on 8 of 25 shooting and also had eight rebounds, while Lou Williams came off the bench to deliver 22 points, making 7 of 14 field goal attempts.

Patrick Beverley went 6 for 10 and wound up with 15 points, while Nene delivered 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting.

Another huge game from Russell Westbrook could not save the Thunder’s season.

Westbrook came up with 47 points, 11 rebounds and was an assist shy of a triple-double.

Jerami Grant and Alex Abrines both scored 11 off the bench, while Taj Gibson and Victor Oladipo had 10 points each.
