THE undermanned Golden State Warriors have rolled to nine straight victories, none bigger than a comeback win over Western Conference rival San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time). And there's plenty more reasons to cheer for the reigning West champs.
Sidelined since February 28 from a collision with teammate Zaza Pachulia, Kevin Durant could return to the Warriors before the end of the regular season, the team announced on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
"His eventual return to contact drills and practice will be predicated upon his progress to the increased intensity of his workouts," the team said in a statement on Durant’s return.
Acording to ESPN’s Marc Stein, sources said Durant could possibly see action in the Warriors’ final three games of the regular season but on a minutes restriction.
In a statement, Golden State said the star forward has "made very good progress" in his recovery from a knee injury and will begin doing non-contact basketball drills. The team added that it plans to "intensify his level of movement over the next several days."
