DURING his 15 seasons in the NBA, Glen Rice was defined by his ability to shoot the three-pointer. But the kids he surprised with a visit at their neighborhood basketball court may have been too young to know that about the two-time All-Star.
In an online video shared by NBA Philippines, the NBA legend and two-time Manila visitor is shown playing with some kids in a streetside court in Makati on Thursday afternoon. The young locals got pleasantly surprised and blurted out an unusual request for the retired cager who turns 50 in May.
“Dakdak! Dunk!” the local kids cried to the 6-8 Rice as he was lining up for a shot.
“Dunk? I can’t dunk, I’m too old!” responded the two-time All-Star who apart from being an NBA ambassador is also a full-time scout for the Miami Heat.
Rice is in the country as part of the first ever NBA Filipino Heritage Week and is scheduled to conduct clinics around the metropolis among other activities.
