Jazz turns up the defense in the fourth to turn back Sixers in George Hill's return

GEORGE Hill came back from a month-long absence to score 21 points as the Utah Jazz closed out strong to beat the Philadelphia 76ers, 100-83, on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Rodney Hood and Gordon Hayward scored 20 points apiece as Utah took its second straight win and improved to a 20-13 record after overcoming a 51-49 Sixers lead at halftime and a 74-70 deficit entering the fourth period.

The Jazz rode the hot hands of their outside shooters who made 15-of-26 triples as they outscored the 76ers with a 30-9 scoring blitz in the final quarter.

Ersan Ilyasova finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Sixers who dropped their fourth straight game. Nerlens Noel and Dario Saric each scored 14, while Jahlil Okafor added 13 markers. Prized rookie Joel Embiid was rested by the team for the seventh time this season.
