Lakers star Pau Gasol took to Twitter to express his concern for Filipinos affected by the floods spawned by typhoon Maring.

IN good times and in bad, Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol is one with the Filipino people.

The Spanish basketball star on Tuesday expressed his concern for the victims of floods and heavy rain brought about by tropical storm Maring through his Twitter account @paugasol.

“All my support to all the families affected by the floods in the Philippines. Be safe and stay strong! #PrayForThePhilippines,” said the elder brother of Memphis Grizzlies center Mark Gasol.

The show of support came almost a week after Gasol also took to Twitter to congratulate Gilas Pilipinas for making it to the 2014 Fiba-World Cup following its runner-up finish in the 27th Fiba-Asia Championship.

Gasol actually wished the three Asian nations who qualified for the world basketball championship to be held in his home country of Spain, including eventual champion Iran and bronze medalist Korea.

Gasol noticeably tagged Gilas Pilipinas’ Twitter account @smartgilas in his tweet.
