AFTER being released by the Brooklyn Nets this week, former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett is headed to Turkey.

Sources told ESPN's Marc Stein that the 23-year old Canadian is set to sign a deal to play for Fenerbahce, a Turkish team and considered one of the favorites in the Euroleague.

Bennett was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft out of UNLV. After a lackluster rookie season, he got traded along with 2014 No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the Kevin Love deal.

The 6-foot-8 forward later played for the Toronto Raptors before finding his way to the Nets.

Bennett saw action in 23 games this season where he averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game with Brooklyn. He has been replaced in the Nets lineup by forward Quincy Acy, the 37th pick in the 2012 draft, who is on a 10-day contract.
