ANOTHER player with Philippine roots has been selected second overall in the NBA Draft.
Dylan Harper, a versatile guard out of Rutgers University with Filipino blood, was drafted No. 2 by the San Antonio Spurs after consensus top pick Cooper Flagg went to the Dallas Mavericks.

Harper follows in the footsteps of Jalen Green, who is now with the Phoenix Suns, but was chosen second overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2021 Draft.
While Green traces his roots to Ilocos Sur courtesy of his mother's side, Harper's own mom was born and raised in Bataan before immigrating to the U.S. at age 7.
Harper's championship legacy
Not only is the 6-foot-7 playmaker the son of a Filipino, he's also considered to be an NBA legacy through his father, five-time champion Ron Harper.
The elder Harper served as two-way court general for Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls and Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, Dylan will join Rookie of the Year awardees Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, alongside De'Aaron Fox in San Antonio's bright future.
