MONTA Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki combined for 72 points as the hot shooting Dallas Mavericks rallied past the Houston Rockets 123-120 Wednesday night (Thursday, Manila time).
Houston was up by one when Ellis drove and threw an assist to Shawn Marion at the corner who then swished the go-ahead 3-pointer with 47 seconds left.
With a chance to tie, James Harden flubbed the second of two free throws with nine seconds remaining. Jose Calderon was fouled and made two charities to seal the win. Harden's 3-point shot ended in an airball to end the game, spoiling the best offensive showing of Dwight Howard who finished with a season-high of 33 points.
