    Magic get back on track and send Lakers to fourth straight loss

    ELFRID Payton had 25 points and nine assists off the bench while Serge Ibaka had 19 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks as the Magic dealt the struggling Los Angeles Lakers their fourth straight loss, 109-90, on Friday in Orlando (Saturday, Manila time).

    The Magic, coming off a loss to the New York Knicks, got off a fast start with impressive play on both ends of the court, ending the first quarter, 30-14.

    At halftime, the Magic was up 57-40 with Payton lighting off 6 for 7 from the field for14 points and Orlando with a solid defensive effort of nine blocks, five from Ibaka.

    The Lakers made a 10-3 run to open the third period to cut the gap but the Magic rallied to make it 86-69 to close out the quarter.

    The lead was cut to six, 88-82 after a three pointer by Jordan Clarkson with 7:52 left in the game but a 19-footer from Payton jumpstarted a 13-0 run to blow the game wide open.

    Clarkson led the Lakers with four triples and a total of 18 points. D’Angelo Russell had 15 points while Luol Deng added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers who have lost four straight games and nine of its last 10.
