Magic holds off Nets to break five-game slump and end Brooklyn win run at three

ELFRID Payton tallied 22 points, 11 assists and five rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic in breaking out of a five-game slump with a 115-107 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night (Friday, Manila time).

The Magic also got help from Aaron Gordon who scored 21 points, Jodie Meeks added 20 and Nikola Vucevic had 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Magic had lost five straight.

Orlando outscored Brooklyn 36-21 in the third quarter. Meeks scored 13 straight in the middle of the period for 18 points.

Brooklyn tried to rally in the final quarter with 12-2 start to cut the deficit 88-83 could not sustain the momentum.

Jeremy Lin scored 32 for Brooklyn which won its previous three games. Caris LeVert had 20.
