AS part of Kobe Bryant’s NBA farewell tour, the Los Angeles Lakers star would occasionally give away his game-used and autographed pair of signature shoes to a member of the opposing team.
Now it’s Kobe’s turn to be the recipient of a pair of kicks. Make that pairs.
To celebrate Bryant’s impending retirement, Michael Jordan gave the Black Mamba a special farewell gift: a complete black and white set of Air Jordan models 1 to XXX. In addition, another complete black set was auctioned on eBay to benefit the Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation according to Sole Collector.
The “Once in a Lifetime Air Jordan Complete 1-30 Set” sold to the 37th bidder for $240,100 when the 24-hour auction closed during the weekend. The final amount averages to around $8,000 a pair.
After Jordan and LeBron James, Kobe has the longest signature line among Nike endorsers.
