DWYANE Wade had mixed emotions to the tweet of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump regarding the fatal shooting of his cousin in Chicago.

“On one hand, I’m grateful that it started a conversation. But on the other hand, it’s just a bad taste in my mouth because of what my family is dealing with and what our city of Chicago is dealing and it looks like it’s been used as a political game,” the three-time NBA champion said during an exclusive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.

Trump’s statement on social media said the incident only proves that Africa-Americans will vote for him in the upcoming US presidential election.

“It’s like kind of conflicted. You know it’s like on one hand, your cousin’s death is used as a ploy for political gain. On the other hand, it’s national story. It goes back to that for me. I want eyes on this city. I want us to be able to do more together. The only way we can do more together is if more people know what’s going on,” Wade said.

The fatal shooting casts a pall on the 34-year old NBA star’s return to his hometown as a member of the Chicago Bulls after playing 13 seasons with the Miami Heat.
