DWIGHT Howard’s Atlanta homecoming has come to an end as the Hawks have agreed to send the former All-Star center to the Charlotte Hornets.

According to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time), Atlanta will reportedly send Howard along with its 31st pick in the upcoming NBA Draft to Charlotte in exchange for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli, and the Hornets’ 41st pick.

Howard has spent one season with the Hawks after signing a three-year, $70.5M deal to play in his Atlanta hometown last July, where he averaged the lowest scoring output since his rookie year with 13.5 points to go with 12.7 rebounds.

This is the team’s first move under new general manager Travis Schlenk, and signals a rebuild for Atlanta after rolling the dice on Howard, who has also had shortlived stints with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. Injuries have limited the former All-Star who was dominant when he came into the league with the Orlando Magic in the 2004-2005 season.
