THE Golden State Warriors overcame a furious late rally by Cleveland Cavaliers, posting a 99-92 victory on Monday in Oakland (Tuesday, Manila time).

The Cavaliers fought back from nine down to tie the game at 92 on a LeBron James basket with a minute and 59 seconds left, but Kevin Durant put the Warriors right back on top with a huge triple.

Durant blocked a James jumper with 26 second left and the Warriors held on, bouncing back from a stunning loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Durant finished with 25 points on 8 for 19 shooting as the Warriors notched their 27th win in 34 outings.

Klay Thompson scored 24, making 8 of 15 field goal attempts, while Draymond Green had a triple-double of 12 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Cavaliers could not get a win run going after beating the Bulls, absorbing their 10th loss in 34 games.

Kevin Love led the Cavaliers with 31 points, going 9 for 25 including 6 for 11 from beyond the arc.

James wound up with 20 points, while Jae Crowder added 15.
