Pistons ride balanced attack to send road-weary Sixers to fourth straight loss

THE Detroit Pistons showed the full force of its balanced attack with a mid-game surge that took the fight out of the slumping Philadelphia 76ers for an easy 113-96 victory on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Seven Detroit players, including all five starters, scored in double figures led by Marcus Morris, who had 19 points. Andre Drummond also came up with a huge double-double of 16 markers and 17 rebounds, while Reggie Jackson added 14 points. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jon Leuer and Aron Baynes scored 12 apiece as well for the Pistons to move to 24-28.

The Pistons turned a slim 43-42 lead late in the second quarter into a blowout with a 39-14 barrage bridging the middle quarters to take an 82-56 advantage in the third.

Drummond continued the lead the charge late in the fourth as Detroit still led by 22 with over five minutes remaining before Philadelphia tried to make the final score decent in getting the deficit down to 13.

Jahlil Okafor led the Sixers with 16 points but the team came up empty in its four-game road trip, all without the injured Joel Embiid, to fall to 18-33. Dario Saric added 13 markers off the bench.
